About Me
I’m Kristin Vartan, an on-camera reporter/multimedia journalist and fill-in anchor for 23ABC News. My previous experience includes Entertainment Weekly, The Hollywood Reporter, E! News and ABC7. I’m also the founder, host and producer of Keeping it Krischic, a talk show featuring the ‘chicest’ creatives in fashion, art and entertainment.
As a first generation American, I grew up in a home of resilient immigrants who planted in me a love for stories. The passion flourished when I discovered storytelling could be a career. Within me is a natural curiosity, excitement for the world around me and a personal mission to seek the truth and represent a diversity in voices and subject matter.
I have a proven track record of generating original and captivating stories that resonate with my audience, whether covering the national and international politics, the entertainment industry, or community stories.
Prior to 23ABC, I produced local news content at KABC-TV, covering anything from Super Tuesday to the Oscars. In addition to pitching stories, writing scripts, researching/fact-checking, and acting as entertainment reporter George Pennacchio’s go-to social media person, I produced packages from concept to completion for my MMJ reel. Other examples of my digital and broadcast experiences include being an on-camera correspondent at red carpets for Press Pass LA and producing social media content for Entertainment Weekly (with 1.7 million followers at my fingertips during events like the American Music Awards).
